A question...

In 'Fever 103', Sylvia Plath says

"I am too pure for you or anyone.
Your body
Hurts me as the world hurts God."

Do you think the world hurts God???
Explain.

//A.

  1. In religion's eyes, I guess so. Too many people are breaking his "rules" and being cruel, unfaithful, impure, et all.

  2. His loved creation has turned him and his faithful followers into the laughing stock of the planet. Just sayin'.

  3. Reading that just makes me think of how she felt about Ted Hughes' affairs.

    But to answer your question, i think that the only hurt that God might feel [maybe] is from people's ignorance in not following him or believing in him etc.

    It's a good question really.

  4. But if God is omnipotent, He should know what the human race is capable (or incapable) of, certainty in His existence being one of them. Perhaps humans could disappoint God?? But is disappointing the same as hurting??
